Worker FAQ's
  1. Who pays me?
WDG guarantees your pay. Your pay will be processed by our payments company on a Friday only when a timesheet is received by the Contractor.
  2.  When do l get paid?
Every worker will be paid on the Friday after their timesheet for the previous week has been submitted. A pay slip will be emailed to you at the same time detailing a full breakdown of earnings and deductions.
  3. I have an issue with my pay, whom do I contact?
Should you have an issue or query with your pay, Please email us and we will respond within 24hours. We will look to resolve any issues as quickly as possible.
  4. Who sends in the timesheet?
The Contractor logs your time / hours on site. Before each Thursday from 12am to 10am Friday (at the latest), the Contractor sends your timesheet to us electronically. Once we have this, we can calculate your hours and your wages breakdown will be sent to the payments company.
  5. How will I be paid?
You will be paid via BACS payment. Rules relating to 'false self-employment' mean that various Contractors in the supply chain must ensure that income paid to construction workers is subject to the correct levels of taxation. Workers that are deemed to be under supervision, direction and control (or the right thereof) must be treated as employed and taxed via PAYE. Only those that are lacking supervision, direction and control can be paid under CIS deduction. When registering with the payments company you will be asked to confirm these details.
  6. What is a Reliability Score and how can it help me?
A national survey has shown that contractors are 97% more likely to pay a higher rate if you have a proven track record. The purpose of the Worker Reliability Score, which is unique to WDG, is simple! The higher score you achieve by punctuality, work rate and quality of work on site, the greater chance you have of increased / ongoing work. A high score raises the likelihood of you being chosen by contractors. As your score increases so does the amount you can charge for your time! A poor score will harm and reduce your chances.
  7. How long can l work for the Contractor?
You can work for a Contractor for as long as they require you. We would refer you to the terms and conditions of the Worker and Contactor for further information.
  8. What if l am given an unfair Worker Reliability Score by a Contractor?
Contact us via CONTACT US (on the website or app) within 48 hours if you dispute your given Reliability Score. One of our staff will then be in contact to resolve the issue.
  9. How much does it cost me to find work and to use your service?
The service to advertise yourself nationally and locally is absolutely free. There are no hidden charges.
  10. What do l do if l receive an offer of engagement?
When you receive an offer of engagement (via text, app notification and email) the text / email will prompt you to go to your app / email and respond to the offer to negotiate with a simple YES or NO! If you accept, your profile will be then made available to the Contractor. From that point you can negotiate based on your profile and skill set.
  11. How do l keep my self available on WDG system?
Once you have created an account with WDG your profile will remain with the company. There is no need to log in once a month to keep it active. Should you wish us to delete your account, you can do so by emailing youtube@wdgtv.com or by deleting it from the app.
  12. Am I able to change the radius of the job offers?
No. At the moment the radius of jobs available is fixed at 25 miles from your home postcode. This is something we are looking to develop and hopefully we can update soon. If you move address you will need to update your profile so you obtain offers within that radius.
  13. Some of my details have changed, how do I amend them?
Log in to the app or website and you can change your personal details and save them to update your profile. Should you need to update your details regarding pay, ring or email the contact number / address on your pay slip.

  6. What is a Reliability Score and how can it help me choose a Worker?
A national survey has shown that contractors are 97% more likely to pay a higher rate if an individual has a proven track record. The purpose of the Worker Reliability Score, which is unique to WDG, is simple! The higher score a worker achieves (by punctuality, productivity, work rate and quality of work on site) the greater chance they have of increased / ongoing work. A high score raises the likelihood of being chosen by contractors. A poor score will harm and reduce an individual’s chances of work. The Worker also can comment on the Contractor’s profile.
  7. How long can a Worker work for me?
They can work for you for as long as you require them. We would refer you to the terms and conditions of the Worker and Contactor for further information.
  8. How much does it cost me to find Workers and use your service?
The service is 100% free to advertise jobs. There are no hidden charges. You can list multiple jobs on the website / app. The only cost to you comes once you have negotiated with the Worker. You will be invoiced 9% above the Worker’s fee. For example, if paying an operative £100 you will be invoiced £109 plus VAT.
  9. How do I pay you and what are the payment terms?
Payment will be required one week after workers have commenced work via timesheet calculation. Payment will be required by debit or credit card through our Stripe Payment service.
  10. How do I engage the Worker?
The worker will receive an offer of engagement (via text, app notification and email). The text / email will prompt the worker to go to their app / email and accept the offer to negotiate with a simple YES orNO! If they accept, their profile will be then made available to you. From that point you can negotiate based on their profile and skill set.
  11. I hired a very good Worker and would like to engage them direct?
Whilst we don’t promote this, we understand that some contractors may want to engage a Worker directly. However, this will breach Clause 4.8 of the terms and conditions. You should email youtube@wdgtv.com. We would refer you to the terms and conditions of the Worker and Contactor for further information.
  12. I hired a very poor Worker, what do I do?
Unfortunately, WDG takes no responsibility of the skill sets of an individual. You, the Contactor, can review each Worker before you opt to offer them work. If the worker isn’t as described, then you are able to mark them down on their Reliability Score and the likelihood of them working again in the same capacity is therefore limited. It’s in the Worker’s interest to be as honest as possible regarding their skill sets. If a Worker is rated 0 on two occasions, then the individual will be removed from the database and potentially not work again via our App.
